A little Autumn Redecorating.

26 Sep OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Something about the change of seasons makes me want to change up my home up too. A great tip I picked up from my fabulous friend and interior designer Delali Foli of Decor By Design (www.decor-bydesign.com), is that updating a few pieces like artwork, rugs and cushions can give your home a whole new feel. This autumn I’m starting with 3 new statement pieces that will hopefully cure my redecorating bug. If not, Delali will have a new project in her very capable hands.

1. Greater London Boroughs poster from Ork Posters. I’ll frame it and hang it in my entry way.

2. Ghana Basket from Greater Goods. They are so multi functional, I currently have one that stores clutter, like phone/ iPod chargers. I’ll use my new one for storing magazines.

3. Cedar Wood iPad/iPhone charger from Etsy. I like having the rustic feel of  the outdoors inside my home.

I ♥ Animal Print

22 Sep

Everyone who knows me knows how much I love animal print. I can never have too much of it in my wardrobe. This autumn I’ll be updating my closet with a few new (and affordable!) accessories. Here are the five piece I’m currently eyeing…

Press: Black Hair Magazine interview

14 Jun

It’s been out for a while but I figured I’d post the full interview on here for those who haven’t managed to get a copy. It would still be lovely if you could support me and the magazine by actually going out and buying a physical copy. It’s full of some great editorial and inspiring style ideas, the editor Keysha Davis and her team are doing a great job with the content. Let me know your thoughts!!

These gorgeous Aldo pumps show that you don’t have to break the bank to get a hot shoe. The neon blue, pink and orange are bang on trend for the season, as is the pencil thin heel. Aldo website

Trending Thursday: Abstract florals.

22 Mar

Christopher Kane s/s 2012

Tuesday was officially the first day of spring and you know what goes hand -in-hand with spring? florals.

I am totally digging all the abstract, bright and mish mash prints that are surfacing this year thanks to designers such as Christoper Kane (see photo above), Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Paul Smith and of course on the high street, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Bebe, Oasis and River Island.  What I love most is the fact there are so many ways to wear it, in the form of a statement jacket all the way to more subtle light wash denim shorts.

1. Floral Belted Dress, Oasis.

2. Ankle length trousers, H&M.

3. Silk blend jacket, Christopher Kane.

4. Triangle bikini top and bottom, Zara.

5. Boyfriend, low-rise denim shorts, Current/Elliott.

6. Scoop sleeveless top, CO-OP Barney’s New York.

P.S if anyone comes across a really great pair of floral jeans let me know. I’ve tried Current/Elliott, Citizens of Humanity,Paige and Topshop but the fits just aren’t working for my petite frame. But I desperately want a pair!!!

Shoes! Shoes! Shoes!

The new catalog from Bergdorf Goodman’s shoe salon landed on my lap today and turned my whole day into one big shoegasm. I already have more than half the catalog marked with possible styles for clients but below are my fave 7 styles, one for every day of the week. Pair any of these beauties with a little Essie Cute as a Button polish on your toes and you’re ready to put your best foot forward for summer.

Trending Thursday: New York Fashion Week

16 Feb

We’re just a week into the month of fall 2012 fashion shows, and I’m already loving what the future has to offer fashion wise. I’m seeing lots of  blues, oranges, monochrome and nudes. Texture wise, furs (lots and lots of it), leather, everything from skirts, to trousers to a blouse at Charlotte Ronson and over sized knits. Shapes are everything from extremely tailored to fifties full skirts. Skirt lengths seem to be creeping closer to the knee again and trouser legs are slightly higher and showing a flash of ankle (very sexy). Shoe wise, there’s a good balance of both very pointy and rounded toes. That’s New York, I’m excited to see the emerging trends in London, high fashion at Paris and of course the glam from Milan.
